sweet + salty trail mix

A glass jar with the lid on the side filled with sweet and salty trail mix of dried apricots, cashews, raisins sitting on a blue napkin.

I was shopping for trail mix in the bulk section of the grocery store and realized I could do better. Similar to making granola, the do-it-yourself variety tastes fresher and saves you money. You can choose any combination of nuts and dried fruit to suit your fancy. Season or go naked, a pouch of this made-with-love trail mix will quicken your step on the trail, or energize you for the work ahead. Package it in a cellophane bag for a pretty hostess gift.
