Who doesn’t love oatmeal bars filled with jam for breakfast, lunch or an afternoon snack? I might need to establish a teatime tradition just to have an excuse to enjoy chewy nutty treats. The walnuts and cinnamon add to the wholesome flavor of this very easy to make dessert. I slice up the pan of cooled bars and pack them into a container to head out on the road, trail or water.
Preheat oven to 325°. Grease a 9" x 9" square pan. Mix oatmeal, flour, baking soda, salt, walnuts, brown sugar, cinnamon and butter. Spread ½ the mixture on bottom of prepared baking pan. Spread with raspberry jam. Crumble the remaining oatmeal mixture over top of jam. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the top looks evenly browned.Ingredients
