isolation cocktail – hibiscus margarita

I haven’t been inside a grocery store for a month. Therefore, digging into the back of the pantry for treasure can yield unexpected gold. Those Starbucks Very Berry Hibiscus packets tucked away for a hot summer day make a rosy mixer when your are low on citrus for your margarita or rum punch. This time we made our isolation cocktail – hibiscus margarita. I found six packets, so I have six opportunities to concoct something new. I’m seeing pink everywhere.

Serves: 1

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup course salt, for garnishing glasses
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • ½ cup Starbucks Very Berry Hibiscus Refresher, prepared
  • 1½ ounces tequila (1 shot)
  • 1 tablespoon agave
  • 1 cup ice
  • 1 lime slice

Instructions

1

Spread salt in a shallow bowl. Dampen the rim of an old fashioned glass and dip it in the salt.

2

Pour lime juice, Very Berry Hibiscus, tequila and agave in a shaker without ice. Shake vigorously to incorporate the agave.

3

Add a cup of ice to the shaker and shake for 45 seconds. (It is the secret to a good drink)

4

Pour over rocks or strain into a glass rimmed with salt and garnish with a slice of lime.

I love this simple and delicious hibiscus margarita! It pairs so well with the Italian Torte, but I guess everything pairs well with
    this wonderful delicacy!!
